A Prom Dress from My Ex-boyfriend
Shakespeare once said "life is a stage". It is the truth for we are all actors of our life play. The ups and downs in our life are just like the plots arranged by Jesus Christ in advance. Sometimes we are rejoiced, sometimes we are moved tears and sometimes we are deeply sorrowful. Each of our lives is full of comedies and tragedies. I keep a prom dress in my wardrobe, which is from my ex-boyfriend. Now he must have been married. I am still single. I am not lonely every time I see this pink prom dress.
We came to know each at a Christmas season. It seemed incredible that we shared everything, hobbies, majors and many things. This coincidence certainly made us walk together and every minute staying with him had been the sweetest memory in my psyche. We met each other every day, talked on lines each night. The soft words signaled his arrival and leaving, bringing his care and love.
He was not well off at that time and he found a part-time job. Upon graduation, I received two things: one is the admission notice from a Italian university, the other the prom dress from him. It was a one-shouldered evening dress. I wore the prom dress just once then put it up in the box and took it with me when I left America for Italy.
People say time proves the very cure of loneness. With true love, there are no lonely people in the world.
