Social Influence Can Work For or Against You
You've been influenced in a thousand ways. First came your parental influences. Whatever they said, thought or did about money went straight into your inner workings and you may play out their money scenarios in your adult life.
Then your peers, school, movies, mass media, and celebrities influenced you for better or worse. Television has played a huge part in shaping you.

Users of Facebook for the most part are educated, with a higher income of $75,000, sometimes more. Turns out LinkedIn is very similar with educated users who make about $100,000.
So you may think, "I need more Facebook and LinkedIn friends." Go right ahead. You can make new friends and acquaintances there, perhaps virtually meeting and enjoying people you might never have interacted with as comfortably in "real life."
But there's another social scene where many educated, wealthy people hang out. And they're eager to make new friends--including making friends with you.
They're on Twitter!
Over 53% of Twitter users are female. If you're between the ages of 35 and 49, you fit right in with 34% of Twitter users. Did you know 43% make above $75,000? From my perspective, that's a comfortable living. How about from yours?
So make many friends, swap recipes, share your love of knitting, wiener dogs, running a home business, or whatever else floats your joyful inner tube. Read their blogs, make comments and connections, share resources you use, be your real self.
As you rub virtual shoulders with your new friends, you'll learn a lot about how they live their lives. You may be influenced to try new things your "real life" friends never imagined--or might warn you about for fear you get hurt, disappointed, or worse: change too much.
Spread Your Own Influence
Now that you know about social influence, use your own with your best intentions. Help others make their lives better as you seek to better your own life. It's all good.
