*What do you think a child expects when receiving a present?
*Can a homemade gift basket will satisfy a child expectations, or will the kid only be happy to receive a store-bought gift?
*Am I capable of creating a homemade gift basket or am I just insist on making one?
Let me assure you, many parents do not believe their children will appreciate just a store-bought gift.
Many children would be very happy to receive any type of present. Of course, if you want to give a present to a teenager, I would not recommend giving the homemade gift basket, but young children see things differently.
For them, a festive homemade gift basket wrapped in colorful paper is always a present no matter what is inside. And what can you really make that will meet their expectations? Almost anything.
Here are two homemade gift basket examples that my daughter loved.
The first idea:
Take a folder with colorful pictures. For example:
*animals
*water world
*cars
*pictures of nature
*views
Add colorful ribbons, stickers, markers, and drawing paper.
A small photo album.
Put all the material into a carton box and cover it with colorful wrapping paper.
You can add carton shapes, scotch tape, and magnet pieces to this box or to another so that the child can create decorative magnets out of the pictures he or she cuts out.
Does this sound too simple?
It really is simple and is one of the crafts kits that my daughter received from my sister and absolutely loved.
My daughter did not pause to think how much the items cost. She excitedly opened the big package and burst into happy cries when she saw how rich were the components inside. Straight away, she took her treasure and went into her room. After a long time, she came out of her room holding in her little hands an album full of pictures of animals and flowers that she loved very much. Inside the album she also created one colorful and sweet picture.
Another idea for a charming homemade gift basket that any child will love
When I finished all the chocolate milk from the box and was left with an empty carton, I understood that I held in my hand an item that could be utilized for my daughter creations.
In order to make the present, I kept two such empty boxes which served as the base. I bought a big roll of colorful nylon wrap and cut it according to the sizes of the rolls. In each box, I placed one roll, different shapes of white stickers, and markers. I wrapped the two boxes with colorful wrapping paper and presented it as a present to my daughter (wonderful for a small attention-grabbing present).
"Mom, what did you get me?"
"A homemade gift basket,"
I answered her and gave her the present. My daughter opened the package and smiled happily. She already knew that the present she received would enable her to create a homemade gift basket of her own which is exactly what she did. She took one decorated box to her markers and I helped her pack another decorated box so that she could give a homemade gift basket to her cousin.
